| Rick Hansen |
Twenty-five years ago, Rick Hansen and the Man In Motion World Tour (MIMWT) wheeled through 34 countries in 26 months to raise awareness for people with disabilities. Along the way, Rick learned that through teamwork and collaboration, anything is possible.
By leveraging the $26 million raised during the original tour, The Rick Hansen Foundation has generated $245 million which has been put towards direct investments that have produced significant accomplishments, including the establishment of The Blusson Spinal Cord Centre, The Rick Hansen Spinal Cord Injury Registry and The Rick Hansen Global Accessibility Map. (Additional info below)
Currently, the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay is retracing the Canadian segment of the original MIMWT, celebrating 7,000 difference makers across Canada who are passing the Rick Hansen Royal Canadian Mint medal from Newfoundland-Labrador to British Columbia and who have impacted their communities in a positive way.
Join The Vancouver Board of Trade as Rick Hansen shares two and a half decades worth of stories on his drive and determination, his commitment to creating a healthy and inclusive world, and what we can expect when the Relay reaches British Columbia on March 19th.
