The Vancouver Board of Trade's Aboriginal Opportunities Committee is pleased to present its third annual Aboriginal Opportunities Forum on April 10 and 11.
Aboriginal communities are crucial to the growth of the Canadian economy. As the youngest and fastest growing cohort in the country, Aboriginal peoples have a key role to play in meeting Canada’s labour market needs, either as members of the workforce or as business owners and partners in economic development.
For Aboriginal people to fully participate in the economy there needs to be a serious effort to build capacity in areas such as governance, education and social services.
This year's forum will highlight how cooperative partnerships between industry, government and First Nations can lead to mutually beneficial economic opportunities.
The third annual Aboriginal Opportunities Forum will include a pre-forum Welcome Reception on April 10 followed by the forum from 7:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 11.
