They often feature federal and provincial ministers, chief executive officers of leading corporations and influential thinkers and decision-makers from around the world.
Whether your sponsorship is geared towards alignment on a specific issue or you’re simply looking for maximum impact for your sponsorship investment, DSPs and SSPs attract movers, shakers and decision makers—just the people you want to reach.
Pacific Economic Forum (PEF)
Presents speakers, seminars and conferences featuring renowned world leaders who come to address and engage Board of Trade members and their guests on topics of broad, international interest. Since the Forum’s inception in 2007, speakers have included The Honourable William Jefferson Clinton, 42nd President of the United States; Stephen R. Covey, leadership authority and best-selling author of The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness; Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada; David Dodge, Governor of the Bank of Canada; and Philip Chen, CEO, Cathay Pacific Airways.
With very high-profile guests, PEF events are nearly always sold-out, and attract a large and diverse audience of Vancouver-area business and community leaders as well as local, regional and national media attention. PEFs deliver big audiences and high impact exposure for sponsors.
Special Forums
Being the premier business organization and speaker platform in Western Canada, The Board regularly hosts special forums to stimulate discussion and encourage people to come together to address urgent concerns. These forums have included the B.C Economic Forum, Pacific Gateway Forum, a Climate for Change, the Metro Forum and P3 Forum.
As touch points for important community action, these forums attract the most engaged members of society at all levels and are an excellent opportunity to reach a large audience of influential leaders.
Distinguished Author Series (DAS)
This popular series provides members an opportunity to hear from a variety of well known and best-selling authors from a wide range of disciplines. Authors have included Peter C. Newman, Diane Francis and most recently, Jeff Rubin.
These events attract those who are interested in the latest business intelligence and offer sponsors premium visibility at events that are most often an exclusive engagement with the author.
Managers’ Toolbox (MT)
Educational and interactive workshops on a wide range of topics particularly geared to small and medium-sized businesses. Workshops are designed to equip up-and-coming managers with the skills needed to manage effectively in our changing business world.
These workshops attract motivated individuals who are ready to make a name for themselves and the companies they represent. If your organization needs to be in front of the rising stars of business, this is where you’ll want to make your sponsorship investment.
Members’ Orientations
At these introductory events, members learn the Secrets of Positive Networking™ as well as about the benefits of The Board before going on to practice their newly acquired skills at a wine and cheese reception, attended by up to 250 other members.
For sponsors, these events are a great point-of-entry to reach a broad range of members and begin building your corporate presence.
Networking Roundtables – Members and Future Members
Dedicated to networking, these events attract Board members looking to develop new, productive business relationships and expand their professional networks.
As an entry-level sponsorship opportunity, Networking Roundtables are a great place to gain consistent exposure without breaking the budget.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
This is where The Board’s diverse membership gathers each June to welcome the incoming chair and new board of directors.
Think all AGM’s are boring and stuffy? Think again. The Board knows that if you want people to show up and pay attention, you need to give them something special and our AGMs do just that with keynotes like Stephen Covey, Rex Murphy and Rick Mercer. With a large captive audience and plenty of buzz, it’s a great place to raise your sponsorship profile.
Business After Business (BAB)
One of The Board’s most popular events, BAB is hosted at one high end venue after another throughout the year. As Vancouver’s most popular trade show, these events attract hundreds of members and non-members for an evening of networking, product sampling and prizes.
This is an opportunity for sponsors to come face-to-face with business owners and decision makers in a more casual, relaxed environment.
Governors’ Banquet
To honour their commitment and contribution to The Board, each spring the immediate past chair is inducted into the Council of Governors at a black-tie gala event. This special evening also features a top-notch keynote speaker, a salute to a prominent company or industry and presentation of the Rix Center Corporate and Community Citizenship Awards (2009 was the inaugural year for these awards which recognize and celebrate the achievements of engaged leaders).
Attracting the who’s who of the local business world in addition to philanthropists and celebrities, this is a premier event on Vancouver’s social calendar and the perfect sponsorship opportunity to put your company on center stage.
