Document Certification

The Vancouver Board of Trade provides certification of documents required for export of goods. Documents include certificates of origin, commercial invoices, letters for business visas, and others.

A Certificate of Origin is necessary if the shipper is asked to supply it by a banking institution, the consignee, etc. It may also simply be in the shipper's best interest to procure a Certificate of Origin to ensure the shipment does not become congested/harassed at the border

The Vancouver Board of Trade provides two convenient ways to have your documents certified.

Online with eCertify
$25.00 incl tax for Vancouver Board of Trade members
$50.00 incl tax for non-members

In-Person

The cost per set (1-8 pages only) in certifying documents is as follows:
$13.13 incl tax for Vancouver Board of Trade members
$26.25 incl tax for non-members

Additional pages:
$1.05 incl tax for Vancouver Board of Trade members
$2.10 incl tax for non-members

The Vancouver Board of Trade will accept Certificates of Origin for immediate processing from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Documents that arrive after 4:30 p.m. will not be processed until the following morning.

NOTE: Certificates of Origin and commercial invoices are two separate sets of documents — any subsequent corrections to be made on documents which have been signed by an authorized representative of The Board of Trade are considered to be another set.
