Vancouver Canucks head coach Marc Crawford and his wife Helen helped to unveil Spirit Bears In The City, a new public art project by the BC Lions Society and sequel to last year’s incredibly successful Orcas In The City. Inspirational B.C. business leader Lucille Johnstone passes away at 80
Lucille Johnstone, affectionately known in the B.C. business community as "Tugboat Annie," passed away peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 31, at the age of 80. Born and raised in Vancouver, Johnstone's contributions to the lives of British Columbians was recognized with a YWCA Woman of the Year Award, an honorary doctorate from UBC, the Order of British Columbia in 1994 and her appointment as a Member of the Order of Canada in 2003. More...

Christmas at Canada Place raises $42,000 in support of less fortunate children in our community
Christmas at Canada Place saw 40,000 people attend The Twelve Days of Christmas and Vancouver’s largest indoor Christmas event. Canada Place Corporation raised more than $32,000 for the Strathcona Community Centre and its Food Security for Children program. As well, an additional $10,000 was raised for the CKNW Orphans’ Fund and other local charities. "We are humbled by the generosity and kindness of our visitors to Christmas at Canada Place," says Mike Shardlow, Canada Place Corporation president and COO. More...
