Fifteen million (more) reasons to get behind 2010
"In 1,823 days, the Olympic torch will be burning in Vancouver," declared Premier Campbell at the Spirit of Vancouver®’s Countdown to 2010 event. Province plans $15 million boost for sports development
The province will seek legislative approval in February for an additional $15 million for 2010 LegaciesNow to enhance sport development programs and support young B.C. athletes and coaches on the road to 2010, Premier Gordon Campbell announced today. "As a future Olympic host, B.C. has the unique opportunity and responsibility to lead by example in celebrating sport and in promoting fitness and athletic achievement," Campbell said. B.C. communities celebrate Spirit of BC Week in full force
2010 LegaciesNow, in partnership with 92 Spirit of BC Community Committees, announce that over 40 events were held across the province officially kicking off Spirit of BC Week from February 12-19. Spirit of BC Week marks the five-year countdown toward the start of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and will be celebrated annually leading up to the 2010 Games and beyond.
