Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival a resounding success
Because of you and The Vancouver Board of Trade, the inaugural Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival was a resounding success. For a budding new festival, it accomplished a great deal — attracting extraordinary media attention in at least three languages, engaging community participation, and inspiring a range of cultural responses with every program. Two hundred bears to be unveiled as Spirit Bears in the City hits the "Spirit trail" for the summer
Two hundred Kermode Spirit Bear sculptures will grace street corners, plazas and courtyards in communities up and down the west coast of B.C. this summer, as part of the BC Lions Society’s Kermode Spirit Bears In The City Project. Each of the seven-foot fibreglass Kermode sculptures has been designed and decorated by B.C. artists, and sponsored by local businesses and individuals. More...

This 15,000-seat venue would be built on the waterfront in historic Gastown, and would provide amazing benefits for the community. Team BMO puts out call for volunteers for Vancouver Marathon
Some 2,000 volunteers are required for the BMO Bank of Montreal Vancouver Marathon on Sunday, May 7, 2006. BMO Bank of Montreal's senior vice president Richard Rudderham will be running on Friday, March 24 to all of BMO’s downtown branches to rally employees to participate in the Marathon, and Team BMO is issuing a challenge to other local businesses and organizations to encourage their employees to participate as volunteers or runners.
