Media Release August 10, 2006, BC Aviation Council BC Aviation Council Conference
The BC Aviation Council is holding their annual conference this year in Richmond on October 4, 5 and 6. Held at the River Rock Casino Resort, the conference will be a significant source of dialogue for the 2010 aviation and security issues. It will give the stakeholders and the authorities an opportunity to hear one another’s concerns and ideas, to allow for better understanding of these issues and to begin working towards consultative solutions. Highlights of the conference will include speakers from the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), RCMP, Canadian Aviation Transportation Security Association, USA Homeland Security, Canada Border Services, Canadian Military, Airline Transportation Association of Canada, Helicopter Association of Canada, Canadian Airports Council, an Air Cargo carrier, Canadian Business Aviation Association, Transport Canada and NAV Canada. T.J. Kennedy, a major player at the Athens and Salt Lake City Olympics, will be the luncheon speaker on Thursday, October 5. On the evening of October 5, the Silver Wing Awards Gala will bring to the spotlight the most deserving award recipients in B.C. aviation. This prestigious event showcases some of the major accomplishments in the development of aviation in this province.
