Stanley Park Restoration Fund Global BC's fundraiser for the Stanley Park Restoration Fund
Beginning Monday, January 8 through Friday, January 12, 2007, Global BC is asking viewers to donate funds to help out with the clean-up and restoration of Stanley Park. All week, a team of volunteers will take calls from viewers and companies who would like to make contributions to the Stanley Park Restoration Fund. Viewers can also make donations via Coast Capital Savings and HSBC branches. In addition, Global BC is encouraging companies and corporations to help out. Leading off the drive, Coast Capital Savings has made a donation of $10,000; TELUS has contributed $100,000; HSBC gave $300,000, and Jim Pattison is matching dollar for dollar up to $1 million and is challenging other corporations to do the same. All proceeds will go directly to the Vancouver Park Board to aid the clean-up and restoration of Stanley Park. Viewers who would like to donate should call Global BC between 5 to 7 p.m. at either 604-280-6397 or 1-877-330-6397, or they can donate via Coast Capital Savings at www.coastcapitalsavings.com.
