California Wine Fair

The dates for the 2007 California Wine Fair have been set. This annual Arts Club Theatre Company fundraiser features 10 special events throughout the month of March.

The California Wine Fair Ballroom Tasting on Tuesday, March 6, will feature more than 300 wines from over 75 California vineyards in the elegant Fairmont Waterfront Hotel Ballroom. Hosted by the Consulate General of the United States, 500 guests can sample wines, enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and bid on silent auction items including many of the hard-to-find wines featured at the tasting. Tickets are $55 per person, and groups of six or more are $48 per person. For tickets and information, call our box office at 604-687-1644 or visit www.artsclub.com.

The California Winemakers Dinner will be held at the Dockside Restaurant on Thursday, March 15. This intimate evening will feature special guest winemaker Adam Richardson of Concannon Vineyard, whose wines will be paired with a four-course meal created by Mario Fernandez, executive chef at the Dockside. Tickets are $165 per person. For tickets and information, call Scott Ashton Swan at 604-687-5315, extension 248 or visit www.artsclub.com.

Back by popular demand are the Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes, a series of evenings featuring hands-on food preparation and cooking instructions lead by renowned Vancouver chefs. Each class is paired with California wine and held in gorgeous private homes and other unique venues.

Some of the confirmed chefs for this year’s classes include Karen Barnaby (Fish House), Claire May (Chef & Company), Dino Renaerts (BC Chefs Association), Dino Gazolla (Seasons in the Park), Lynda Larouche (Watermark), and Mario Fernandez (Dockside). Participation for these classes is extremely limited. For tickets and information, call Scott Ashton Swan at 604-687-5315, extension 248 or visit www.artsclub.com.
