The VECC presents Part Four of its five-part year-long kids’ series: The Emperor’s New Threads

The Emperor's New Threads

VECC presents The Emperor's New
Threads

The VECC's Kids' Series presents an Axis Theatre production: The Emperor’s New Threads is a witty adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fable created and staged by Axis Theatre’s Melody Anderson and Peter Anderson, featuring Melody’s imaginative masks and magical costumes.

An emperor, obsessed with the latest fashion, falls prey to two tricksters who boast they can make him some new clothes so fashionable that only those who are truly "cool" will be able to see them. Worried about appearing to be "uncool," the emperor and everyone else pretend to see what isn’t there — everyone, that is, except one small child who is not afraid to tell the truth. Duration: 50 minutes. Targeted audience: Age five and up.
