Colleen Kelly, executive director, Volunteer Vancouver, will explain where to start, what to expect and most of all, the rewards and benefits of voluntarism at a Vancouver Board of Trade breakfast on Friday, May 11, at approximately 8 a.m. at The Fairmont Waterfront, Waterfront Ballroom C, 900 Canada Place Way. Did you know that one in three Canadians volunteer and that British Columbians average 169 hours per year? Voluntarism is extremely important to the well-being of our communities. So what better time than The International Year of Volunteers to celebrate civic pride while making a difference to communities and cities. Vancouver's business community leaders have taken the first step in launching the Spirit of Vancouver campaign to raise awareness and enthusiasm. Now it's time for the public to share its expertise and provide input.
