Dragon Boat Festival celebrates 15th year
The Alcan Dragon Boat Festival celebrated its 15th birthday in style this year. The Festival was held at Concord Pacific Place and the Plaza of Nations from June 13 to 15 and drew a record 185 dragon boat teams. As well as races to watch, there was live music all weekend, food from around the world, kids’ activities and more. Organizers estimate that 100,000 people visited the site over the Festival’s three days. More...

Downtown Vancouver Association AGM — June 12, 2003
The Downtown Vancouver Association (DVA) held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, June 12, 2003. The DVA presented the Downtown Achievement Award to the Vancouver 2010 Bid Corporation for its efforts to bring the Olympic Games to Vancouver. DVA president Ray LeBlond addressed the AGM, saying that he was "privileged" to continue in the position for a third year. "I believe our city is the envy of the world because of the commitment of senior city staff and Council to stakeholder input," said LeBlond. More...
