Here's what you have to say...

"Who says Vancouver lacks spirit? I find it incredibly strange that the city voted the best place in the world to live raises such a question. I hope no potential visitors to the city find this page. It's embarrassing.

Vancouver couldn't have more than it has. It's the best city in the best country in the world. Canada ranks in the top 5 in environmental health, (the US is 52) ) in longevity and in education (the US is 22 out of 34 developed countries). It was just voted the best country in which to invest. Why is it that Canada has so much and feels it has so little?

BCPassport is a new company with a new website designed to celebrate everything Vancouver. We LOVE the city and are as proud as we can be to live here. And we are doing everything we can to tell the world how FABULOUS Vancouver is. We want everyone who comes here to love it as much as we do. The way to raise Vancouver's spirit is to stop talking about its not having spirit and to CELEBRATE the city and all the wonderful things it offers.

So my advice is to STOP saying Vancouver lacks spirit. That becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead talk about the spirit and wonders of the city. Vancouver is Spectacular. Live it."

"As I walk with my dog 'Dolly' along the seawall everyday, I show my enthusiasm by talking with the tourists about my wonderful city, answering any questions they may ask. I call Vancouver 'My City' because I was born not far from where I now live. I have come home to the most beautiful, progressive, clean and friendly city in the world."

Baseball"I remember flying into Vancouver for the very first time in 1975. My air ticket had been booked to Vancouver for a visit to the University of British Columbia, with a continuation fare to Halifax for the purpose of touring Dalhousie. I was a Canadian traveler returning home to Canada to complete my university education. From the view of my plane the Lions were covered in snow, peeking up above the clouds, reflecting the sun's rays. Below, the wisps of clouds threaded over the ocean surface that also glinted in the sun. I fell in love with Vancouver and cancelled my flight to Halifax.

Even in turmoil, Vancouver never loses its appeal. Why? Its character of people and settings has created meaningful places to live. We are surrounded by many nations, families and lifestyles. Our value is in our beautiful landscape setting. Vancouver is the natural experience that people from around the world want to participate in."
