Join in the celebration as The Vancouver Board of Trade announces and honours the winners of the 2005 Spirit of Vancouver® Awards at a special luncheon on Friday, September 16 onboard Holland America Line's ms Statendam docked at Canada Place.
Individuals, companies and community organizations have been nominated in sveral categories as well as special awards for a police officer and fire fighter.
In addition, the Spirit of Vancouver Awards luncheon will include the presentation of the annual Mike Horsey Free Spirit Award. The Free Spirit award is named for the former deputy minister of tourism and president of BC Pavilion Corporation who was known for thinking outside the box.

Business Objects for encouraging involvement and support of various charities.

TD Canada Trust for funding the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.

Telus for funding an extensive province-wide information tour to raise public awareness about breast cancer.
Community Organization Award

BC Hydro Employees’ Community Service Fund (HYDRECS) which funnels charitable contributions from BC Hydro employees and retirees to registered Canadian charities.

Firehall Theatre Society/Firehall Arts Centre offering more than three hundred theatre and contemporary dance performances each year.

Our allotted time to board the ms Statendam is limited. Please plan to arrive at the Cruise Ship Terminal Level by 9:45 a.m. sharp. No boarding after 10:30 a.m.
