Utilizing networking opportunities is the most important thing a young professional can do to enhance their personal growth. Networking not only increases the scope of ones contact list but also expands the degree of understanding that individuals have of the world around them.
Building on this fact, the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) will be hosting a night of speed networking on Tuesday, January 15th at the Caprice Lounge on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver. The goal of the event, open to all members of the public, is to bring together business professionals from LOT, CYP, The Vancouver Board of Trade, local business community, as well as current business students from the Lower Mainland’s many colleges and universities. Mentees and Mentors in the Leaders of Tomorrow Program are encouraged to come to this event together.
During the event, attendees will be broken into groups, and given various topics to discuss and debate. After a short period of time, attendees will be asked to switch tables, where they will have the opportunity to make more contacts and join in spirited debate. This process of meeting, greeting, and debating will be repeated numerous times until all in attendance have had the opportunity to meet and share. Ample time will be made available after the speed networking session for informal networking and conversation. Don't forget your business cards!
Cost: Regular Board of Trade members and general public: $15 (register as a future member) Leaders of Tomorrow mentors/mentees and Company of Young Professional Members: $10 (register as a member)
We look forward to seeing you at one of the first of many events hosted by the Leaders of Tomorrow program in 2008.
