BUILDING IT BETTER: Home improvements in a troubled economy

The economy has taken its toll on Canada’s retail sector – perhaps most noticeably in the home improvement industry, given its strong relationship with housing starts and property values. Yet, despite the tough times, The Home Depot continues to innovate and use all of its resources to remain competitive in the global marketplace.

Despite the uncertain road ahead, The Home Depot will continue investing in its business including its operations in China – a market relatively new to the ‘do-it-yourself’ industry.

Annette Verschuren, president of The Home Depot Canada and Asia, will speak on managing a business though economic uncertainty. She will also elaborate on how The Home Depot is continuing to invest in its business, both in Canada and in Asia.
