Peter Leitch & Alan Peretz, President of North Shore Studios & Partner at Deloitte
Topic:
ICABC CA Speaker Series
Come and join us for a unique opportunity to learn from two accomplished industry professionals. We will hear from two Chartered Accountants as they discuss their backgrounds, provide some insight into why they completed their CA, and share some advice about what factors have contributed to their success.
Guests will have the opportunity to ask a wide variety of questions as this event is open to anyone interested in becoming a CA or simply appreciates hearing from high level professionals. Following the presentations, guests will have a chance to network while enjoying appetizers and refreshments courtesy of our event sponsor, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC.
Peter Leitch is the President of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios and chairman of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia. Like many CA’s, Peter articled with a local accounting firm and later joined the private sector when he took on a financial role with Ticketmaster. Mr. Leitch would later pursue a Controller opportunity to join Cannell Films Ltd. in 1987 which would lead to him joining North Shore Studios in 1989. On top of being an accomplished professional, Peter is an active community contributor having been the past chairman of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and former director of the BC Chamber of Commerce.
Alan Peretz is a Partner in the Vancouver office of Deloitte and Touche LLP where he is in-charge of the Enterprise Risk practice in British Columbia and is a member of the firm’s National Enterprise Risk Management Committee. Alan was also the Lead Client Service Partner for the Olympics and Paralympics Vancouver Organizing Committee, Deloitte Canada. Alan has over twenty five years of experience assisting government, private sector and non-profit clients with managing risk at the enterprise and specific risk levels including control review and documentation. Alan volunteers in various capacities and has been a member of the Cabinet of the United Way of the Lower Mainland, and a Board member, Treasurer, and Chair of the Audit Committee for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of British Columbia and the Yukon for 8 years. He also currently sits on the Board and is the Treasurer of the Saint George’s School Foundation.
