In 2010, Port of Vancouver stakeholders came together to map out possible futures for the region and its port and they refreshed them in 2015.
The future scenarios were framed by the questions:
- Will the world transform to a post-carbon economy?
- And will the Port of Vancouver – and the regional economy – be prepared to meet future growth needs?
Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has been tracking indicators to assess which of four long-term scenarios is materializing.
In his remarks, port authority President and Chief Executive Officer Robin Silvester will address the question: Right now, is the region headed confidently towards "The Great Transition" – or has it "Missed the Boat"?
