Rebecca Bollwitt – Miss604.com Topic: Entrepreneurial Leadership & Innovation Rebecca has been blogging about life in BC since 2004 on Miss604.com, and she has been podcasting since 2005. Listed among Vancouver’s most visible on the web, Miss604.com was voted "Best Vancouver Blog" by the Georgia Straight for 2009, "Best Local Blog" by The Westender in 2010 and has been ranked within the top ten blogs in Canada. Rebecca co-founded sixty4media, a WordPress website development firm, and has co-authored the book, Blogging to Drive Business.
David Helliwell – Pulse Energy Co-Founder Topic: Strategic Leadership & People Management David’s career has spanned 3 continents and has been focused on the energy sector since 1994. David has been an exploration geophysicist, a poorly-paid professional windsurfing racer, a Paris-based management consultant to large multinational organizations and has spent three years running the policy shop for a cabinet minister in the Canadian federal government. While with the Canadian government, David was responsible for reducing costs and improving environmental performance of 700 million square feet of office space across the country. David is an Action Canada Fellow, a member of the BC Cleantech CEO Alliance, and is on the Imagine BC advisory board.
Sophie Lui – Global BC Weekend Anchor Topic: Career Leadership & Keeping Informed Sophie is the host of Global BC’s Saturday & Sunday Morning News, as well as the Weekend Noon News Hour. She’s been a part of the Global family for a number of years – whether in Vancouver, or in Victoria at affiliate CHEK News. Sophie was born and raised in the Lower Mainland and has been a news junkie for as long as she can remember. She attended BCIT and graduated from the Broadcast Radio program. From there, she worked at several news radio stations like CKNW, CKIQ-Kelowna, and CFAX-Victoria - before turning toward television news.
Kambiz Asrar–Haghighi – Lighthaus Logic Inc. Topic: Leadership Presence and Winning Teams Kambiz has gone from being a high-tech FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) designer, to a lead consultant for some of the Emirates most prolific projects including the Dubai Yacht, Burj Al Arab and Emirates Palace, and to currently leading the marketing department for a Vancouver high-tech company. Kambiz has a love of languages with five in his repertoire and holds a Master of Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, an MBA and a CMA designation.
In addition to hearing from these business leaders we will be recognizing those that are completing the CYP Engaged Leadership Certificate. CYP Members recieve 4 Credits for attending this event!
