Edmonton. Unprecedented infrastructure investment. A downtown renaissance underway. An innovative carbon-neutral community that will be home to 30,000 people. An entrepreneurial hub. Home to Canada's first municipal energy transition plan. And the logistical heart of the energy industry.

Through diplomacy and action, Edmonton's Mayor Don Iveson is part of a new narrative around responsible energy production — one that balances the need for ensuring Canadian energy reaches new markets, with real, long-term investments in sustainable energy initiatives.

Edmonton is a surprising leader when it comes to defining a practical pathway to energy resilience and efficiency, setting an example for how we can turn Canada's energy assets into an environmental and economic legacy.

Following his keynote remarks, Mayor Iveson will be joined onstage by Gary Mason for a moderated discussion.

Join Mayor Iveson on November 28 for Edmonton's confident, future-looking story and a discussion on a strong, balanced energy industry.

About the speaker:

Since his election as Edmonton's 35th Mayor in 2013, Mayor Iveson has set his sights on transforming Edmonton into a one of Canada's very best places to build something great.

Mayor Iveson has earned a reputation for being pragmatic, creative, collaborative and compassionate in his approach to building Edmonton. Harnessing a renewed confidence among Edmontonians, he is focused on driving progress in four priority areas: building a more uplifting and inclusive city, building a more resilient and green city, building a more prosperous and competitive region, and leading an effective and open local government.

Prior to his election, Mayor Iveson served two terms as a City Councillor before running for Mayor. He and his remarkable partner Sarah Chan serve the community together while raising two young children.
