Exploring Halal Trade Opportunities with Malaysia

Exploring Halal Trade Opportunities with Malaysia

The World Trade Centre Vancouver, in partnership with the Consulate General of Malaysia in Vancouver and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), invites you to a roundtable on expanding trade and investment between Canada and Malaysia, with a spotlight on the rapidly growing global halal industry.

Malaysia is recognized as a global halal hub and a key gateway to the ASEAN region. This session will provide practical insights into cross-border halal certification, sourcing opportunities, and the rising demand for halal products across multiple sectors.

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Mohd Afandi Abu Bakar, Consul General of Malaysia, and Ms. Nyaee Ayup, Trade Commissioner of Malaysia in New York with MATRADE. They will share perspectives on the evolving halal landscape, the value of Canada–Malaysia collaboration, and how British Columbia businesses can position themselves in this thriving market.

Attendees will have the chance to connect directly with consulate officials and trade partners to explore how Malaysia’s expertise, networks, and certifications can help them compete and grow in halal trade and beyond.
