The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade's Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council is pleased to announce a virtual instructor-led training on diversity and inclusion, in partnership with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI).

A highly interactive and collaborative learning experience.
Engaging, immersive sessions in a virtual classroom.
Features include breakout discussions, brainstorming activities, and polling.

There are three separate sessions held over three days. You will need to attend all three sessions of this training in order to receive the CCDI Foundation Certificate.

Please note that in order to receive the CCDI Foundation Certificate, you will need to attend all three sessions:

SESSION 1 – May 4

Diversity and Inclusion Fundamentals

This session provides participants with a robust, shared understanding of what we talk about when we refer to diversity and inclusion, and why diversity and inclusion are keys to the success of organizations as well as individuals.

SESSION 2 – May 5

Introduction to Unconscious Bias

This session tackles one of the most pervasive barriers to inclusion in the workplace: conscious and unconscious bias. We explore the sources and mechanics of bias, its impact and cyclicality. We then provide participants with strategies to increase awareness and mitigate the impact of bias in the workplace.

SESSION 3 – May 6

Respect in the Workplace

The aim of this session is to offer guidelines to establish respectful workplaces. We build a shared knowledge on how to identify what respect looks like in the workplace, and how to address manifestations of disrespect.
