VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade is proud to announce the launch of our newest initiative, the Community Spotlight Series. As part of our mandate to champion and celebrate businesses in the Greater Vancouver region, we, as a non-profit ourselves, want to use our platform to shine a spotlight on our non-profit members.
Each quarter we'll be recognizing a Vancouver-based non-profit that offers programs and services that improve the social and economic wellbeing of citizens in our community. You will see them at our events and across our various platforms including our blog and social media, as we share the wonderful work undertaken by each organization
The wellbeing of people and businesses are interlinked. As Western Canada's leading business association with a membership comprising one-third of B.C.’s work force we hold the mantle of responsibility to bridge the gap between the business community and our not-for-profit members, ensuring we all play our role in building up our communities.
This quarter, we're featuring the BC Centre for Ability. Under the leadership of Joshua Myers, the BC Centre for Ability designs and delivers community-based programs for persons with disabilities. They are on a quest to foster inclusive communities where every person thrives at all stages of life. Based in Vancouver but serving nearly 5,000 people across BC each year, they offer a wide range of programs to support people with disabilities to achieve personal goals and be meaningfully included in all aspects of life.

About the BC Centre for Ability
BC Centre for Ability (BCCFA) has been delivering quality services for children, youth and adults with disabilities and their families since 1969. We are the largest community-based provider of child development services in BC and are considered provincial leaders in our field.
We were founded with the goal of creating inclusive communities and a sense of belonging. We use approaches that are compassionate and evidence-based. We serve clients across the lifespan; helping families enhance their child’s development and inclusion in the community, supporting families in successfully navigating life transitions, and providing adult clients with vocational training and connections to meaningful employment. Our programs provide support to children, youth and adults, through a variety of services, including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Social Work, Supported Child Development, and Employment Services.
