The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade is honoured to host General Jennie Carignan, Canada’s Chief of the Defence Staff, for a timely discussion on how Canada and its allies are adapting to meet the demands of an increasingly complex global security environment.

As threat dynamics continue to evolve, safeguarding long-term security requires resilient partnerships and thoughtful choices—decisions that will shape the strategic environment for generations to come. Drawing on her experience leading complex multinational operations, and now at the helm of the Canadian Armed Forces, General Carignan will examine the practical implications—the “so what”—of today’s security environment. She will outline how Canada’s armed forces are strengthening partnerships, including with industry, to build resilience, interoperability, and innovation, while transforming to defend Canada and its interests alongside allies and partners across NATO, the Indo-Pacific, the Arctic, and beyond.
