In partnership with Presidents Group, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council (DLC) invites you to our annual event to kickstart National AccessAbility Week (NAAW).
614,630 working-age British Columbians (age 15-64) have a disability, representing 20.5% of the population. In the 2021 Pledge to Measure initiative, Presidents Group measured nearly 50,000 B.C. employees, with 1,899 staff self-identified as having a disability and 110 senior leaders self-identified as having a disability. Research has shown that more diverse and inclusive workplaces average greater productivity, have higher profits consistently and have an improved ability to anticipate change and innovate. People with disabilities have been recognized as valuable employees, and studies have shown that employees tend to stay with a company over a longer period of time, demonstrating better attendance and performance than employees without disabilities.
Measuring for disability inclusion in the workplace is paramount to help organizations measure the success of diversity initiatives, track progress over time, understand how many people on staff have a disability, and much more.
