World Trade Centre Vancouver to unlock domestic opportunities for businesses through Canada Connect

As B.C. businesses look to grow their sales and supply chains within Canada, the World Trade Centre Vancouver, a subsidiary of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, will help businesses unlock new domestic opportunities through the Canada Connect Program.
The new program will provide clear market insights, targeted training, domestic trade missions, and hands-on advice, ultimately helping businesses:
- Connect with buyers and reach new Canadian customers
- Grow revenues and strengthen domestic supply chains
- Create good jobs in B.C. and across Canada
Strengthening the conditions for B.C. and Canadian businesses to thrive domestically is critical to creating economic resilience. Every year, around $530 billion worth of goods and services move across provincial and territorial borders, which is equal to almost 20% of Canada's gross domestic product. Eliminating all federal, provincial, and territorial internal trade barriers could boost GDP by as much as $200 billion over time, which is equivalent to $5,100 per person.
Canada Connect builds on WTC's expertise in running programs such as Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), which supported more than 600 companies in generating hundreds of millions in new revenue. We look forward to continuing our work in helping businesses grow their revenues, reach new customers, and create good jobs.
The work of Canada Connect is enabled by a $3.2 million investment from the Government of Canada, through Pacific Economic Development Canada. We thank Minister Gregor Robertson, Minister Jill McKnight, and PacifiCan for this investment in B.C. and Canadian businesses' future.
