Transit and Transportation is the backbone of our economy and critical to the livability, and affordability, of our region.

In the Greater Vancouver Economic Scorecard 2016, the region received a C grade for average commute times to work, as well as the portion of the workforce that does not commute by car. These patterns lead to clogged roadways and transportation corridors - slowing down our economy, hampering our productivity, and reducing the overall quality of our lives.

These are the issues Kevin Desmond, the new CEO of TransLink, has been grappling with in his first six months on the job. Moving TransLink Forward: 6 Months of Progress is your opportunity to hear Mr. Desmond's assessment of our regional transportation system, including preparations for the opening of the Evergreen Extension and plans for the $2 billion first phase of the 10-Year Vision for Metro Vancouver Transit and Transportation – the region's biggest transit service expansion since 2009. This event will include a Q&A with Mr. Desmond and Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, Chair of the Mayors' Council.
